Video Orientation for Drive-in Grad Walk

Please take a moment to review the Drive-in Grad Walk Graduate Checklist before you arrive on Saturday, May 15.

Graduates - share the message below with any guests who are planning to attend the Drive-in Grad Walk

Be sure to check off the following items before you arrive:
 

  1. Watch the Grad Walk Orientation video, and show it to any guests you are bringing with you
     

  2. Have your guests review our Safety Do’s and Don’ts handout for the event
     

  3. Review the Drive-in Grad Walk map
     

  4. Attend an Info Session and review the Commencement FAQs if you have more questions
     

  5. Doublecheck your 15-minute timeslot

  6. Plan when to leave so that you arrive at the Centennial Campus within the 15-minute timeslot you chose
     

  7. Make sure to don your cap and gown
     

  8. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear under your cap and gown
     

  9. If you are bringing more than one vehicle in your party:

    • Make sure you (the graduate) are in the first car

    • Plan to meet off campus (like at the South Academy Highlands shopping center across from the Centennial Campus) and drive in together in a line
       

  10. If you are driving yourself or being dropped off at the event:

    • A Student Shuttle Service is available for our graduates on the day of the Drive-in Grad Walk. (You must use the shuttle service if you’re driving yourself, with no one else who could drive your car while you’re walking the stage, or if you are being dropped off via bus or rideshare)
       

  11. Make sure everyone coming to the event is wearing a mask
     

  12. Tune your radio to KEPC 89.7 for info about the grad walk as you drive onto campus
     

  13. Decorate your vehicles and caps in celebration. We’re all so proud of you!

Download Safety Do's & Don'ts

Do:

  • Wear your mask at all times. The only exceptions may include:

    • Eating and drinking inside your car.

  • During your graduation photo on stage.

  • Pay attention to our volunteers, cones, and signs as they direct you through the event.

  • Stay in your car unless directed by our graduation volunteers to exit. The only exceptions include:

  • Visiting restroom area, event bookstore, or event information tent.

  • Stay 6 feet apart from all other people when outside of your car.

  • Stay at home if you are not feeling well or are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms.

Don’t:

  • Bring alcohol or drugs on the premises at any time.

  • Bring weapons on the premises at any time.

  • Bring any pets to the event.

  • Exit your vehicle at the staging area in Lot D, unless you are a graduate.

  • HONK your horn at any time once entering campus for this event, as it will interfere with our sound production. 
     

ON THE GROUNDS

  • The SPEED LIMIT in the parking lots is 5 MPH at all times! PLEASE watch for other people.

  • Drivers are responsible for making sure that all passengers are inside the vehicle and that no other patrons are in the way before moving their vehicle.

  • Footwear must be worn everywhere on the grounds.

  • There is NO RUNNING or HORSE PLAY on the grounds or buildings (This includes parking lots, restrooms, etc.) This is for your safety and the safety of others.

COVID-19 Message

People should not participate in any in-person activities if they:

  • Are sick, especially with COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are currently in the quarantine period.

  • Have recently tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently in the isolation period.

  • People at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should weigh the risks and benefits of activities they are considering.
