Construction Updates

We had hoped to be finished with this project before the Fall semester started, but delays related to material availability and inspections have delayed completion. Of the five restrooms included in this project, the contractor is focused on completing the Rotunda area restrooms. Completion is expected in October/November.

This project is nearing completion and scheduled to be complete in mid-September. Exterior stairwells and bridges will be open as the contractor finishes the soffits (the underside of the walkways and bridges) and other minor touch-ups.

The roof contractor typically has 2-3 crews working each day. They proceed from west to east – one on A Building and the other on B Building. The work will be noisy during the morning as the crews tear off the old roof and smelly later in the day due to adhesives used to secure the new roof.

This project is currently in the design phase, and so far, two visioning sessions have taken place with PPCC faculty and staff. The contractor plans to involve downtown campus students in visioning sessions after the Fall semester begins. The design phase is scheduled to continue through mid-November with construction starting at the end of the Fall semester. It is intended for the new Learning Commons to be complete and ready for Fall 2022.
